As many as 11 personnel of Cakung District's Water Resource Blue Taskforce, East Jakarta, are deployed to the 11 meters-long water channel on Jalan Flamboyan, RT 05/12, Pulo Gebang Urban Village.

Head of Cakung District's Water Resource Unit, Dian Nur Cahyono said the channel improvement is part of local resident's request since the existing channel condition was inadequate.

"The existing channel was to small to accommodate rainwater. The broken parts caused 10 cm-high inundation in the area," she said, Tuesday (10/28).

Dian explained that the channel revitalization is carried out using a 60x60x120 centimeter U-ditch with a cover. A mobile crane is also deployed to facilitate the installation.

"Channel improvement is important to prevent inundation and flood," she explained.

According to her, the project has been starting since a week ago. Now the progress reaches 50 percent.

"The project is targeted for completion this week," she added.

Meanwhile, member of RW 12 LMK of Pulo Gebang Urban Village, Gundhani Nurul Ikhlas, appreciated the unit for revitalizing the channel.

"We express our gratitude and appreciation for the quick response," she admitted.
