Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno emphasized commitment to realize Jakarta free of Tuberculosis in 2030.

It was stated by Rano, Thursday (10/23), while inaugurating the kperation of Integrated Tuberculosis Services at the Matahari Unit of Pasar Rebo Regional Hospital and visiting RW 05 Tuberculosis Alert Village, Balekambang Urban Village, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

This village has become a pilot area in prevention, case finding, treatment assistance, and public education about Tuberculosis.

"Residents have been actively involved, caring, and helping each other to support the successful treatment of Tuberculosis patients. This is a good practice that needs to be replicated throughout Jakarta," he said.

The socialization of Tuberculosis eradication is a priority program of the Jakarta Provincial Government as this is not a new disease and a treatment has been found.

Rano added that there are 503 Alert Villages in Jakarta up to this month.

Moreover, Jakarta has 18 hospitals with tuberculosis service. Rano hopes those hospitals will be able to control tuberculosis transmission.

"Tuberculosis is part of national's priority program initiated by the president. It becomes Jakarta Provincil Government priority," Rano stated.
