A total of 100 participants took part in the Fisheries Cultivation Training activity held by East Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency.

Head of East Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency, Taufik Yulianto said the training was held on October 17 and 20, 2025.

This activity was held as a form of support for increasing fish consumption and strengthening community food security.

"It's important for the residents to develop fish farming. This activity is also part of our efforts to increase fish consumption in East Jakarta," he said, Monday (10/20).

This training also aims to introduce participants to various fish farming techniques that prioritize increasing production value, both for consumption fish and ornamental fish.

"100 people took part in this training," he added.

He continued that of this number, 49 participants were food fish farmers and 50 participants were ornamental fish farmers spread across 10 districts in East Jakarta.

This ornamental fish cultivation training presented Rini Fahmi (Main Instructor for Aquaculture, Ornamental Fish Research Center, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries) and Satria Deco (practitioner from Jade Discus).

"Training participants are provided with materials related to innovation, sustainable management, creative marketing, and global export opportunities," he continued.

Today's training on fish cultivation for consumption was attended by 50 participants, with speakers Mochamad Farkan (Lecturer at the Fisheries College) and Purnomo Wibisono (Founder of Iwake).

"During the training, participants received various materials on Urban Fish Farming as a solution for family food security and strengthening the local independent economy on narrow land," he said.

Taufik explained that as a form of support, all participants also received production equipment. Participants in the food fish farming program received a fiber tank, a sorting container, a pH test kit, and a sack of fish pellets. Meanwhile, participants in the ornamental fish farming program received two aquariums, a plastic bucket, a pH meter, and brine shrimp.

"We hope that this activity can increase enthusiasm and grow business potential, increase productivity, and accelerate economic acceleration for fish farmers in East Jakarta," he hoped.
