Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung received an official delegation from Arizona House of Representatives at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (10/20). The meeting aimed to explore potential partnership opportunities, particularly in economic sector, and to discuss plans for establishing an Arizona Trade Office in Indonesia.

"Arizona and Jakarta are expected to work together, and we sincerely welcome this opportunity,"

Pramono welcomed the delegation, highlighting Arizona's leading sectors as potential areas for collaboration with Jakarta.

"The key point is that Arizona and Jakarta are expected to work together, and we sincerely welcome this opportunity. Arizona has notable strengths, particularly in the semiconductor industry, and is currently one of the world's leading players," he shared.

He also highlighted the potential for cooperation in higher education, mentioning several prominent universities in Arizona, including Arizona State University, University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona State University.

"They have very advanced and well-established universities, such as Arizona University, and we hope to build partnership in this area," he mentioned.

Pramono also expressed hope that the visit would lead to discussions on a potential sister city partnership between Jakarta and Arizona.

Leading the delegation, Tony Rivero, Chairman of the Committee on International Trade of the Arizona House of Representatives, conveyed the delegation's intention to strengthen trade, cultural, commercial, and diplomatic ties between Arizona and Jakarta.

"We are here on a mission to explore cooperation opportunities. This is an opportunity for us to establish more formal relationships at the sub-national level. There are many areas for collaboration, including with our universities," he conveyed.

The visit also included discussions on the establishment of an Arizona Trade Office in Indonesia.

Rivero noted that the trade office in Jakarta is intended to identify economic opportunities for Arizona companies in Indonesia, while also serving as a bridge for Indonesian businesses looking to invest in Arizona.

"I believe this meeting has yielded highly productive results," he remarked.
