The Jakarta government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the research and innovation-based policy ecosystem through Jakarta Innovation Days 2025: Explore, Connect, Impact! which will take place from October 21 to 25, 2025.
Innovation is a shared space for all city residents
This event will activate the Dukuh Atas area into a city innovation stage. Jakarta Innovation Days (JID) 2025 will be the first innovation event in Indonesia held in an integrated manner within a single city area. This also serves as the implementation of placemaking in the Dukuh Atas area as a symbol of Jakarta's progress towards becoming a global city.
This is conceived as a cross-sector meeting space between the government, academics, communities, and creative industry practitioners. The Jakarta government collaborates with Urban Studies at University of Indonesia, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and Whiteboard Journal, presenting a concept of idea and thought exchange realized through urban area activation.
The spirit of innovation will be showcased through the Innovation Booths spread across 12 locations in the Dukuh Atas area. More than 100 collaborators, ranging from regional work units (OPD), BUMDs, universities, communities, creative entrepreneurs, to the winners of Jakarta Innovation Awards and Hackathon Hack4Resilient Jakarta, will display their works and initiatives that contribute to the city's transformation.
Jakarta Development Planning Boards (Bappeda) Head, Atika Nur Rahmania said that over the past three years, JID has consistently been a platform for creative collaboration that brings together innovative visions and cross-sector networks.
In the 2025 edition, she explained, JID presents itself as a moment of transformation, a space where every element of the city can get to know each other, celebrate, and mobilize potential towards a resilient and sustainable Jakarta.
This forum serves as a platform for university leaders, research institutions, and collaborative partners to exchange strategic ideas aimed at strengthening research, innovation, and academic collaboration rooted in the real needs of the city.
"Through JID 2025, the government affirms that innovation is a shared space for all city residents," she added, Monday (10/20).
This event becomes an open invitation for the community to explore, build networks, and collaborate in advancing their city. She assessed, a empowered city is one that grows from the ideas and initiatives of its residents.
"Through this forum, Jakarta emphasizes the importance of science as the main foundation in formulating urban development policies through active involvement of academics," she continued.
As information, the series of activities is also complemented by Innovation Talks, a forum for sharing ideas and perspectives across sectors on strategic issues of city development and the future of Jakarta.
Taking a theme aligned with Jakarta's development vision for the 2025–2030 period, this session featured more than 90 speakers from various fields, including Communication and Information Technology Minister, Meutya Hafid; Tourism and Creative Economy Deputy Minister, Irene Umar; Women Empowerment and Child Protection Deputy Minister, Veronica Tan; Hilmar Farid; Ilham Habibie; Bambang Susantono; Iyas Lawrence; Adjie Santosoputro; Candra Darusman; Georgius Budi Yulianto; Elisa Sutanudjaja; Gerald Sebastian; and Diana Nazir.
All activities of JID 2025 will activate various locations in Dukuh Atas, starting from Thamrin Nine Ballroom, Agora Mall, Dukuh Atas Transport Hub, to public spaces on Jalan Blora and Jalan Tanjung Karang.
Each location will be lively with music performances by Danilla, Adrian Khalif, Lalahuta, and other musicians, as well as community activation and a creative market resulting from the collaboration between Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and Whiteboard Journal.
The peak of the event will be filled with the Rector Summit, a strategic forum between the Jakarta government and university rectors from various regions in Indonesia.
