The Agency of Tourism and Creative Economy (Disparekraf) is organizing the Jakarta Walking Tour Festival 2025, one of the main programs aimed at promoting Jakarta as a tourist destination rich in historical heritage, culture, and local uniqueness.

To foster a sense of pride and ownership of this city

The activity held from October 13 to November 8, 2025, involves participants consisting of high school/vocational students, college students, communities, tourism associations, media, and Jakarta's Abang None.

Participants are invited to see Jakarta not only as a modern metropolis but also as a place with a long historical heritage, cultural diversity, and potential for maritime tourism.

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Head, Andhika Permata said, this is one of the concrete steps taken by the Jakarta government to develop experience-oriented tourism that is educational, interactive, and sustainable.

He stated that this aims to open the public's and young people's minds to the potential of tourism in Jakarta.

He explained, this becomes a platform for the community to explore and understand in greater depth the history, culture, and dynamics of life in Jakarta.

"We want to foster a sense of pride and ownership of this city, as well as encourage an innovative spirit in sustainable tourism promotion," he expressed, Monday (10/20).

He hoped that this could improve the public's understanding of the history, culture, as well as the potential of marine and urban tourism in Jakarta. Additionally, it fosters a sense of pride in local identity and cultural heritage, and encourages young people to actively contribute to tourism promotion through social media platforms and communities.

"We take the initiative to make Jakarta a tourist destination not only to visit but also to experience and understand," he explained.

Here is series of Activities for Jakarta Walking Tour Festival 2025:

Jakarta Walking Tour Festival 2025 consists of three main activities: Mainland Tour, Island Tour, and Outbound, offering unique travel experiences in various areas of Jakarta.

1. Mainland Walking Tour

It is held in Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, West Jakarta, and North Jakarta. Participants will explore historic and iconic places such as Jatinegara, Cikini, Sunda Kelapa, Pasar Baru, Melawai, Kota Tua (Old Town), and Glodok Chinatown, while enjoying various colonial architectures and social interactions in the urban environment. Participants will gain knowledge about the history of Jakarta over time as well as the cultural values that characterize the city

2. Island Tour (Seribu Islands)

This activity takes place in Seribu Islands, which is one of the best tourist destinations in Jakarta. Participants will visit Onrust Island and Untung Jawa Island to learn about the historical and cultural sites of the coastal community. They will stay overnight for two days and one night on Sepa Island, Macan Island, and Asha Resort. During the activities, they can enjoy the beauty of the sea, eco-tourism activities, educational tours, as well as learn about local wisdom and efforts to preserve the coastal environment

3. Outbound

As part of the festival, outbound activities will be held at Ecopark Ancol with a total of 1,000 participants. The activity aims to foster a spirit of togetherness, teamwork, and environmental awareness among the participants. This series of outbound activities is designed to be educational and recreational through various interactive games
