A fire burned down a warehouse storing packages for online sales on Jalan Cakung Cilincing, Gang Damai RT 01/06, Pulo Gebang Urban Village, Cakung Sub-district. It was allegedly triggered by an electrical short circuit.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency's Picket Officer, Mardiyanto said, the fire occurred yesterday at around 6:55 PM.

"Employees had already taken early action with the fire extinguisher. But, they failed because the fire had grown larger," he expressed, Thursday (10/16).

He then deployed 14 fire engines and 70 firefighters to the scene.

"They completely controlled it at 9.15 AM. No casualties in the incident," he explained.

Meanwhile, a resident, Ery (43) said he heard a loud noise from the direction of the warehouse before seeing the fire grow larger.

"Thank you to the officers for the quick handling so that the fire did not spread to residents' houses," he stated.
