Some 150 joint personnel of Satpol PP, PPSU, Transportation, Bina Marga, police, and army were ordered to firm and immediate action against illegal street vendors in Senen Market, Central Jakarta.

Senen Sub-district Head, Prasetio said, the action was done as street vendors occupied the sidewalk along Jalan Senen Raya, Senen Station to Senen Market from Block 1 to 6.

"This is done for everyone's comfort so that residents can use public facilities safely and comfortably," he expressed, Thursday (10/16).

He hoped that the situation on the ground could become more controlled and public facilities could be used properly.

"Vendors can sell their goods in the designated area," he explained.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, TP Purba added, enforcement is to follow up on residents' complaints about vendors occupying the sidewalks at Senen Market, Block 3.

"We have repeatedly conducted socialization and disciplined vendors who sell on the sidewalks in Senen," he concluded.
