The Kramat Jati Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) on Jalan Raya Bogor, East Jakarta, now looks neat and is safer and more comfortable to use after repairs.
This bridge is now good again
Based on field observations on Tuesday (10/14), the bridge located directly in front of Kramat Jati Market has now been fully repaired. No more holes were found on the floor or stairs.
The Jakarta Public Works Agency had completed patching approximately 56 locations of previous potholes that posed a danger to users.
This repair has made the bridge usable again, including the stairs on the west, east, and central sections connected to the Transjakarta Bus Stop, all of which are now sturdy and safe.
Kramat Jati JPO is known to be an important facility for residents around the market. Every day, it is used by pedestrians heading to or leaving the market area, as well as public transportation users along Jalan Raya Bogor.
Additionally, the bridge is now cleaner and more orderly. There are no more street vendors in the bridge area. The railing and the bridge girders look sturdy, while the three supporting pillars of the roof that were previously rotten have been reinforced again with welding.
One resident of RW 01, Batu Ampar Urban Village, Suryati (39), said she was very happy with the bridge, which is now much more comfortable.
"This bridge is now good again. The hole in the part has been patched, so it's safer," he added.
He added that he uses the bridge every day to shop for his trading needs at Kramat Jati Market.
"The existence of safe and comfortable public facilities is certainly an important matter," he explained.
The same statement also came from a resident of Gang Kambing, Batu Ampar Urban Village, Lukman (42).
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), there are no more broken parts of the bridge. This bridge is safe and comfortable for everyone to use, from children to adults," he stated.
