Jakarta Public Works (Bina Marga) Agency has installed speed table to reduce vehicle speeds at three locations in Cilandak Sub-district, South Jakarta, in order to enhance safety for both drivers and pedestrians.

"...making it more comfortable for pedestrians to use the crosswalk,"

Speed tables have been installed at the turn of Jalan Fatmawati Raya toward Jalan RA Kartini (near Fatmawati MRT Station), on Jalan Fatmawati Raya (from Haji Nawi) to Jalan TB Simatupang (toward Citos), and on Jalan RA Kartini-Jalan Fatmawati Raya (turning north toward Haji Nawi).

Next week, another speed table will be also installed at the intersection of Jalan TB Simatupang-Jalan Fatmawati (near the turn to Fatmawati Hospital).

South Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency Head, Rifki Rismal, mentioned that coordination with local traffic officers was carried out before the project began.

"The height of speed tables has been adjusted to match the level of sidewalks, making it more comfortable for pedestrians to use the crosswalk," he explained on Tuesday (10/14).

Cilandak Sub-district Head, Djaharuddin, also urged road users and pedestrians to stay alert and careful in the areas where speed tables have been installed.

He hopes the installation of speed tables will improve comfort for both pedestrians and road users.

"I believe that the development is solely intended to provide the best service for the community," he expressed.
