The Pramuka Market Traders Association met with Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to discuss the increase in kiosk rental prices after the revitalization made by Perumda Pasar Jaya at Jakarta City Hall.
Basically, this meeting is for further negotiation
Association Representative, Gugum Ridho Putra, said that the meeting aimed to renegotiate the kiosk rental prices which were deemed too high after revitalization.
"Basically, this meeting is for further negotiation regarding the post-renovation price. Thus, Pramuka Market is to be renovated by Perumda, but the price set is more expensive than before, which is four times higher," he expressed, Friday (10/10).
He had previously held a meeting with Pasar Jaya to discuss the matter, but no agreement was reached. Therefore, the traders also reported this issue to the Ombudsman.
"We have been well received there and have communicated several times. But, today, we came again to the Governor because we received the third warning letter. Traders are worried about eviction," he explained.
In that meeting, he assured that the Governor guaranteed there would be no evictions of Pramuka Market traders.
"He (the Governor) also requested that the negotiation room be reopened," explained.
Further, the Governor asked traders and Pasar Jaya to resume discussions in a bid to reach a more reasonable rental price agreement.
"He will oversee directly and ensure that traders have no concerns about eviction," he added.
One of the Pramuka Market traders, Efaldi explained that prior to revitalization, the kiosk rental price at the market was Rp 5 million per year, or approximately Rp 100 million for a 20-year rental period.
However, after the revitalization, Perumda Pasar Jaya set the rental price at Rp 425 million per kiosk for a 20-year lease, or approximately four times higher.
"Previously, it was only Rp 100 million for 20 years, now it is Rp 425 million for 20 years, a 5 percent discount. So, four times as much. We request it to be negotiated to Rp 250 million per kiosk on the ground floor and Rp 200 million on the first floor for a 20-year rental period," he said.
