Head of Munjul Urban Village, Tari Djutari said the cleaning was run to ease fire survivors burden. Moreover, the part of the house that burned was on the second floor, so the cleaning process required extra effort.
"It's our job to assist the residents who need help like this," she said, Thursday (10/9).
Tari explained that cleaning was also carried out on items that were burnt, such as books, mattresses, pillows, cupboards, and fans.
He appealed to the public to always be alert to the potential for fires because they can occur anytime and anywhere, including due to negligence.
"I hope residents have their own light extinguisher for an early handling," she added.
Meanwhile, the house owner, Ucok (37) appreciated the urban village for this quick response.
"The assistance from PPSU officers really helped us," he admitted.
