The North Jakarta Park and City Forest Sub-agency has handled 6,007 broken and fallen trees distributed across six sub-district areas from January to September 2025.

North Jakarta Green Belt and Cemetery Section Head, Habib Prabandoko said, personnel regularly conduct sweeping of trees prone to falling or breaking, as well as those interfering with utilities, such as street lighting and traffic signs.

"In fact, we also often handle cases based on reports from residents," he expressed, Wednesday (10/8).

Of 6,007 trees handled, 146 were cut down; 437 were pruned at heavy level; 4,051 were pruned at moderate level; and 1,239 were pruned at minor level.

"We have also handled 18 fallen trees and 116 broken trees up to September," he explained.

According to him, this handling would also help keep the trees in the residents' environment, parks, green corridors, and others well-maintained and neatly arranged.

He urged residents not to hesitate to report if there are dense trees that are at risk of falling or obstructing utilities in the residential area. They can directly contact through phone at 112 or via various other channels via JAKI.

"Lately, the weather has been unpredictable with frequent rain accompanied by strong winds. We're continuously increasing and intensifying monitoring and pruning of lush and potentially falling trees," he added.

This action received appreciation from one of the residents from Tanjung Priok, Rochim (56).

"Very good, indeed tree checking or pruning must be continuously intensified in any condition for safety and mutual comfort. Besides, the environment also becomes tidier," he stated.
