Joint personnel controlled area on Jalan Pegangsaan Dua at RW 04, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading District, North Jakarta.

Head of North Jakarta Satpol PP, Muhammadong said joint personnel controlled 29 illegal buildings and stalls. The activity was run according to local residents report.

"These illegal buildings occupy areas not designated for their intended use," he said, Friday (10/3).

He explained the activity involved 130 joint personnel of Satpol PP, police, army, and rainbow troops.

"The activity went smoothly, safely and conducively because we carried it out according to procedure," he explained.

According to him, these buildings do not have permits and have violated spatial planning regulations and disturbed comfort.

"The controlling is also based on Regional Regulation Number 8/2007 about Public Order," he added.

He hopes the area will not be occupied again by illegal buildings. Routine monitoring will be run.

Meanwhile, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village Head, Sarmudi admitted socialization was already given before conducting the controlling to the building owners.

"At this moment, PPSU personnel remain cleaning the area," he admitted.

After being controlled, he added, his side will involve private parties through their CSR program to beautify the area.

"Supervision will definitely continue to be carried out, we also invite residents to maintain the environment together so that it is always clean and well maintained," he stated.
