Drainage normalization project in residential area of Jakan Kramat Lontar Gang 10, RW 01, Paseban Urban Village, Senen, has reached over 60 percent completion. The project, carried out by Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency since July, is progressing steadily.
"We aim to complete the work by October 15,"
Senen Sub-district SDA Unit Head, Zulfahmi, mentioned that the 270-meter-long drainage is being normalized by installing 40x60 centimeters U-ditch concrete channels.
"So far, we've completed 180 meters, or approximately 66.6 percent of the total length," said Zulfahmi on Thursday (10/2).
According to him, the project was proposed by residents through Rembuk RW and included in the 2024 Musrenbang.
"We aim to complete the work by October 15," he added.
The project received positive feedback from Bambang (43), a local resident, who said the old drainage was too narrow to handle heavy rainfall.
"Hopefully, the work finishes soon so we won't have to worry about flooding during peak rainy season," he expressed.
