The construction of Jakarta's LRT Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai continues to progress.

It will definitely be very beneficial for the residents

Based on data, the construction progress has reached 72.852 percent as of early October 2025.

The details are as follows: Zone 1 (Jalan Rawamangun Pemuda - Jalan Pramuka) 71.13 percent and Zone 2 (Matraman - Manggarai) 57.35 percent. This train-based public transportation is targeted to serve community mobility next year.

Many residents want this project to be completed, especially those living around the construction site.

As stated by Manggarai Community Leader, Zaenudin, who resides in RT 08/10, Manggarai Urban Village, Tebet, South Jakarta. He believes that with the LRT Jakarta in Manggarai, mobility in his residential area will be much easier and will involve proper planning.

"In the future, it will definitely be very beneficial for the residents," he expressed, Thursday (10/2).

He believes that traffic jam is normal during construction projects. Traffic around the area will return to normal once the project is completed. Even, the economy in his surrounding area will improve with the development of public transportation.

"It's understandable that there's traffic; it's part of the process, and it won't last forever," he added.

He stated that all residents had previously been informed by the village office about the Phase 1B LRT construction project.

"Urban village office has told us several times, this is the impact, and this is how the traffic turns out. And we all understand," he added.

LRT Jakarta Project Director, Ramdani Akbar explained, the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B will later provide faster and easier access for the communities around North, East, and Central Jakarta.

"The development of the LRT track is also an effort to create intermodal connectivity and reduce carbon emissions and congestion in Jakarta," he explained.

He added, this project is indeed part of Jakarta's broader movement towards becoming a more efficient and environmentally friendly global city.

"From traffic jams to connectivity, from pollution to sustainability, because public transportation is no longer just a choice, but a necessity for a better life," he explained.

Previously, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung met with Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi to discuss the LRT Jakarta project at Mandiri University, Central Jakarta on Monday (9/29).

"The work progress of LRT from Velodrome to Manggarai has exceeded what was planned," he said.
