Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency is currently repairing a collapsed retaining wall along the Krukut Tributary on Jalan Kebon Kacang 29, RW 04, Tanah Abang.
"Current progress has reached 50 percent,"
Eli Menawan Sari, Head of Tanah Abang Sub-district SDA Unit, said the repair work on the 17-meter-long and 4.5-meter-high retaining wall began on September 15 and is expected to be completed by mid-October.
"Five personnel are handling the repair.
Current progress has reached 50 percent, and we're targeting completion in the next two weeks," she explained on Monday (9/29).According to Eli, the repair involves replacing the damaged wall stones and building a control pit.
"The wall collapsed due to age and erosion from water," she noted.
Artha (38), a resident of RW 04, Kebon Kacang Urban Village, appreciated the quick response from Central Jakarta SDA team to residents' complaints.
He admitted that the collapsed retaining wall had blocked the flow of Krukut Tributary, often causing flooding during prolonged heavy rains.
"Hopefully the repair will be completed soon," he expressed.
