Seribu Islands Regency held a clean-up activity at Kresek Beach, Pari Island Urban Village, Seribu Selatan Islands District in commemoration of World Cleanup Day (WCD) 2025.

Seribu Island Regent, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan said the activity aimed to raise public awareness, while strengthening sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism.

"The government and the community, remain enthusiastic about carrying out clean-up activities around the Kresek Beach area," he said, Friday (9/26).

Seribu Islands are a prime tourist destination in Jakarta, so cleanliness is paramount for ensuring tourist comfort.

"We invite the community, tourism actors, and tourists to maintain environmental sustainability in the Seribu Islands," he added.

According to him, similar activity was also held on other islands. This activity is also routinely held by urban village ranks every week.

Pari Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Ardiansyah stated today's activity was participated by 300 people of rainbow troops, Seribu Islands civil servants, students, and residents.

A clean-up action was held at Kresek Beach so that it can become a leading tourist attraction on Pari Island.

"The total amount of waste collected was 12 tons," he admitted.
