Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency has completed the water channel normalization on Jalan Karet Baru Pasar Baru Barat 2, RT 07 and 08 RW 06, Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang.

Tanah Abang District Water Resources Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari said the normalization of this 150-meter-long channel has been carried out by 12 Blue Troop personnel since last August.

"This water channel normalization follows up on residents' aspirations through RW deliberations up to the 2025 Musrenbang," she said, Wednesday (9/24).

She added that the normalization was carried out by installing 60 x 60 centimeter U-ditch concrete and a concrete cover to increase the channel's capacity.

"The inundation problem in this area has been handled," she added.

Meanwhile, M Rahmat (45), a local resident, admitted the residents will not worry about inundation during heavy rain.

"The channel is now able to flow the water smoothly," he admitted.
