Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno invited Jakarta Provincial Government ranks to make the commemoration of IKADA's Grand Meeting Day a motivation to improve services to residents.

We're trying to make our civil servants understand

It was stated by Rano when leading the 80th IKADA Grand Meeting Commemoration Ceremony at the South Plaza of the National Monument, Central Jakarta, Friday (9/19).

"We're trying to make our civil servants understand that the field in front of our house isn't just an empty field. It was once the site of an extraordinary grand meeting 80 years ago," he stated.

Rano emphasized that this activity also aims to encourage civil servants to serve the public. He continued that Jakarta's goal of becoming a global city is a modern city with attractive services.

According to Rano, Jakarta's future must be modern in infrastructure, digital in services, and global in networks, while simultaneously remaining warm in culture, hospitable in tradition, and committed to mutual cooperation. This will ensure Jakarta, as a global city, remains cultured and modern without losing its soul.

He reminded that civil servants, field officers, and bureaucratic leaders are the first faces of Jakarta that people encounter every day.

From administrative services, smiles at the counter, from the certainty of public transportation, to green open spaces, that's where the people will judge.

Rano said this will allow the public to assess whether independence still resonates daily. Therefore, he reminded them that being a public servant means not only mastering procedures but also nurturing one's conscience.

He added that being a public servant means working with integrity, competence, and sincerity. Only in this way Jakarta can truly be called a global city, not because of its skyscrapers, but because of its people who serve with their hearts.
