The South Jakarta Health Sub-agency moved quickly in handling cases of measles and rubella that spread across several areas. This aims to prevent the further spread of the disease.
The highest number of rubella cases is in Mampang Prapatan with three cases
South Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Yudi Dimyati said that as of now, nine cases of measles was recorded already.
"Nine cases of measles and 12 cases of rubella were reported based on data from 10 sub-districts in South Jakarta. Compared to 2024, the detection of suspected measles cases in 2025 is higher," he expressed, Friday (9/19).
He explained, the distribution of measles cases in South Jakarta consisted of one case each in Kebayoran Baru, Pasar Minggu, and Setiabudi sub-districts. Then, there weretwo cases each in Kebayoran Lama, Pesanggrahan, and Tebet sub-districts.
"The highest number of rubella cases is in Mampang Prapatan with three cases, but there are no measles cases there," he explained.
With the incident, they immediately conducted a rapid community survey (SCK), carried out Outbreak Response Immunization (ORI), and provided education on handling to the community.
In the treatment efforts, his party also continue to provide medication until they recover, one of which is measles vaccination as a booster dose.
"Factors causing the average residents to contract measles and rubella include weather changes and not being vaccinated," he continued.
To curb the spread of the case, he also regularly conduct immunizations to prevent the spread of measles through health facilities.
"Through proper management. Hopefully, the cases of this easily transmitted virus will continue to decline or there will be no significant spread in a region," he hoped.
