The repair of the Kali Baru River retaining walls on Jalan Raya Bogor, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, which collapsed in two different locations, is targeted to be completed by next November 2025.

East Jakarta Mayor, Kusmanto said, the Kali Baru River stream was originally under the jurisdiction of the central government. However, recently its maintenance has been handed over to the Jakarta Government.
"We can immediately take action if a landslide occurs in the river," he expressed, Tuesday (9/16).
He hoped that repair could prevent the same incidents from happening again and prevent floods in the future.
"I also urge residents not to build structures on the riverbank," he explained.
East Jakarta Maintenance Section Head, Puryanto added, the retaining on Jalan Gongseng, RT 11/RW 01, Cijantung Urban Village wall was collapsed in March 2025.
The repair itself is done along 21 meters long with 7.5 meters high and a foundation height of 2.5 meters.
"This work had been ongoing since August 19 and is targeted for completion on October 17, 2025. The work progress has touched 45 percent," he continued.
As for the retaining wall across Cijantung Mall, Jalan Raya Bogor, RT 15/01, Cijantung Urban Village, collapsed in December 2024.
The repair was conducted along 62 meters with 4 meters high and a foundation height of 2 meters.
"It began last August 19 and is targeted to be completed in the upcoming November 2025. Currently, the progress has reached 70 percent," he said.
