Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, emphasized the importance of being an adaptive leader, capable of keeping up with the changing times, and brave enough to make quick decisions in facing field issues.

To be an adaptive leader

He delivered this statement while closing the National Leadership Training (PKN) Level II Batch VII 2025 at Tavia Heritage Hotel, Central Jakarta.

"Leader's task, especially as mentioned earlier, is to be an adaptive leader who can keep up with the times and adapt to what is happening in the field," he expressed, Friday (9/12).

He then shared his personal experiences in solving various problems, ranging from the relocation of MSMEs at Bendera Pusaka Park, managing protest actions, to resolving issues in Kampung Bayam. He assessed, dialogue is needed to resolve issues in Kampung Bayam.

"This Kampung Bayam incident is a very old unresolved event. The way I plan to resolve Kampung Bayam is, of course, to have a space for dialogue," he explained.

He also shared his efforts in responding to the protests a few weeks ago. He emphasized the need for leaders to make quick decisions, including ensuring that the healthcare costs for the victims of the protests are fully covered by the Jakarta Government.

"Hence, matters related to burial and public health were immediately addressed at that time," he explained.

Pramono also explained his absence from the field during the protest. As a former demonstrator, he deliberately restrained himself, but still made sure to monitor the situation directly.

"As a former demonstrator, I am not happy if that stage is taken over by politicians. Well, after all, as the Governor, I am a politician," he continued.

He also cited his decision regarding the Car Free Day (CFD) after the protest action. This needs to be held to provide a sense of safety and certainty to the community.

These problems require the presence of a leader who is brave enough to make different decisions and able to adapt to the conditions on the ground.

"An adaptive leader is a leader who truly understands what the main issue is. And that issue is resolved not for themselves and their family, but for their community," he added.

He hoped that the participants could apply the knowledge gained from this National Leadership Training. Additionally, he emphasized that the decisions made should also benefit the people of Jakarta.

Jakarta Regional Secretary's Government Assistant, Sigit Wijatmoko, stated the implementation of the National Leadership Training Level II Batch VII 2025 aimed to meet the managerial competence standards for structural positions.

Through this training, participants were expected to develop strategic leadership competencies to improve performance in their organizational units.

As information, the National Leadership Training Level II Batch 7/2025 is conducted through blended learning over 107 days. It is held from May 5 to September 11, 2025.
