Jakarta Planetarium and Observatory provided astronomy education through Astronomy Goes to School program held in SDN Pela Mampang 12, South Jakarta.

Lecturer of Jakarta Planetarium and Observatory, Azis Taz Sunjaya said the program will run routinely by targeting 20 schools in Jakarta.

"Our material focuses on students in grade VI of elementary schools in Jakarta," he said, Wednesday (9/10).

He explained that students were given sky simulation materials and observation practice using telescopes to learn about the phenomena of the Jakarta night sky, including light pollution, constellations, and visible planets.

He hopes that this program will foster students' interest in science and additional knowledge about astronomy.

Meanwhile, Headmaster of SDN Pela Mampang 13, Candra Gunawan Anwar appreciated the program provided to his 70 students of grade VI.

"We hope that this program can continue so that other students can also gain scientific knowledge and astronomy knowledge," he hoped.
