Jakarta Council (DPRD) Chairperson, Khoirudin, supports the plan to transform PAM Jaya's status to Perseroda. This step is crucial to accelerate access to clean water for all Jakarta residents through funding schemes outside the City Budget (APBD).
"... the change of PAM Jaya to Perseroda, God willing, is all for the welfare of Jakarta residents,"
He believes that this status change will bring tangible benefits to the community.
"The draft bylaw (raperda) regarding the change of PAM Jaya to Perseroda, God willing, is all for the welfare of Jakarta residents," he said at Jakarta DPRD Building on Thursday (9/4).
On this occasion, he also confirmed an increase in Jakarta APBD for 2026 fiscal year. He made this statement after leading the plenary meeting to close the 3rd Meeting Period of 2024–2025 Term, which also marked the opening of the 1st Meeting Period and the 4th Recess of 2025–2026 Term.
The plenary meeting also included a speech by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung on two draft bylaws concerning the 2026 City Budget and the change of PAM Jaya's legal status to Perseroda.
"The governor's speech on our APBD draft, God willing, includes an increase to a total of Rp95.35 trillion," Khoirudin explained.
For information, the proposed 2026 City Budget draft amounts to Rp95.35 trillion, a 3.80 percent increase from the previous year, with a focus on increasing regional revenue.
Meanwhile, the change of PAM Jaya's status to Perseroda
aims to accelerate the development of pipeline networks so that the target of 100 percent clean water service coverage for residents can be achieved sooner than originally planned.
