PT Transjakarta distributed 3,368 free Transjakarta service cards to 15 customer groups included in the Jakarta Government program.

Hopefully, this free card will lighten the burden on residents

PT Transportasi Jakarta President Director, Welfizon Yuza said the card distribution of cards was realized through collaboration with the West Jakarta City administration in a to accelerate the distribution of free service cards, which is one of the Jakarta Governor's programs.

"West Jakarta is the first city in Jakarta where we distribute these cards. Previously, the distribution was done directly by us to customers," he expressed, Tuesday (9/2).

He explained, direct distribution through sub-district and urban village heads would provide greater benefits and convenience for customers, and the card would also be more targeted to the appropriate customers within the 15 categories.

"Usually, those who have registered have to pick up their items at our office in Cawang, East Jakarta. I think that's too difficult, especially for the elderly. So, this direct distribution will have a positive impact and benefit for the recipients," he explained.

According to him, customers who belong to the 15 beneficiary groups can use the card to ride Transjakarta, LRT, and MRT for free, simply by tapping according to the regulations.

Welfizon urged free cardholders to use them following the registered name and photo. If the data in the system does not match, a one-year deactivation penalty will be imposed following applicable regulations.

"Hopefully, this free card will lighten the burden on residents because one of the highest costs in life is transportation," he hoped.

This card distribution received appreciation from West Jakarta City Secretary, Firmanudin Ibrahim. This is one of the Jakarta Government's efforts in collaboration with Transjakarta to provide more inclusive, fair, and socially just public transportation services.

"We welcome the acceleration of this card distribution because its presence is very beneficial, especially for community groups that need support in accessing public transportation," he uttered.

He hoped that this free transportation card program not only helps with community mobility but also encourages productivity, strengthens togetherness, and improves the quality of life for residents of West Jakarta.

"Let's work together to maintain and optimize the use of this program to create a better West Jakarta city," he stated.
