Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency continues to strive to encourage private companies and regionally-owned enterprises to be more open in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
create an inclusive, non-discriminatory work environment
Head of Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency, Syaripudin said various concrete steps have been taken to ensure inclusivity in the workplace while fulfilling company obligations in accordance with applicable regulations.
One of the efforts taken is through Disability Sensitivity Technical Guidance for companies. He explained that this program aims to increase companies' understanding and awareness of the needs, rights, and potential of people with disabilities.
"The company is expected to be able to create an inclusive, non-discriminatory work environment and provide adequate accommodation for all workers," he explained.
He added that the agency also provides assistance in the recruitment process for people with disabilities. Furthermore, it provides guidance to private companies and regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD) regarding their employment obligations, while also supporting their recruitment and career development processes.
The agency also awards companies that have employed people with disabilities according to the quota set by regulations as a form of appreciation.
"It is hoped that this award will encourage other companies to participate in opening equal and inclusive employment opportunities for people with disabilities," he added.
Another important step is the development of an inclusive employment database system. This system makes it easier for employers to search for candidates with disabilities with comprehensive data, including profiles, skills, job interests, training history, and work experience.
"With this system, the recruitment process becomes more efficient while providing wider opportunities for people with disabilities," he stated.
