Jakarta City Council's Commission D Member, Ida Mahmudah supports the Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung's plan for initiating the construction of Cakung Royal Batavia Hospital, East Jakarta.
Pramono's initiation deserves appreciation
The hospital, which is targeted for completion by the end of 2027, will be the first international-standard hospital owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government.
"The construction of a regional government-owned hospital is needed much. Jakarta residents need a hospital provided by the provincial government. Pramono's initiation deserves appreciation," she said, Tuesday (8/26).
She also encouraged the Jakarta Provincial Government to build more hospitals, especially in densely populated areas to make them easily accessible to the public.
"The Jakarta Provincial Government has the capacity to build a hospital with the best facilities. I believe a similar hospital should be built without waiting for the hospital in Cakung to be completed," she added.
Ida also appealed for facilities improvement at existing regional hospitals. By improving the types and services provided, provincial government hospitals will gain greater public trust.
"Hopefully there will be facilities upgrade at Koja, Tarakan, Pasar Rebo, Cengkareng Regional Hospitals, and so on," she hoped.
Furthermore, Ida proposed that this international-standard hospital also accommodate the medical needs of non-BPJS residents, so that middle- and upper-class people no longer need to seek treatment abroad.
