Setiabudi District's Water Resources Unit, South Jakarta is dredging mud and trash on Menteng Pulo connecting channel, Jalan Makmur, RW 09, Menteng Atas Urban Village. The progress has reached 30 percent.

Unit's personnel, Rizki Saputra, said the dredging is run along 370 meters with mud thickness reached 30 cm.

"We collect 150 mud sacks everyday," he said, Tuesday (8/26).

He added that the dredging involves eight Blue Taskforce personnel. The project aims to prevent the surrounding from being inundated.

"Now the progress has reached 30 percent and is targeted to complete next month," he added.

Meanwhile, one of local residents, Lukman (45) appreciated the dredging.

"Hopefully it can prevent inundation during heavy rain," he hoped.
