Jakarta City Council Commission E Secretary, Justin Adrian supports the policy of Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, which provides tax incentives in the form of a 50 percent discount for the hotel sector and 20 percent for the food and beverage or restaurant sector.

This is expected to bring positive impacts to the industry

Justin called this policy a commendable step.

"Jakarta government should fully support the hotel and restaurant sector, as these industries are significant employers and align with the demographics of Jakarta's population," he expressed, Tuesday (8/26).

According to him, this tax incentive comes at the right time to help the hospitality and restaurant sectors recover after experiencing economic pressured.

He cited that the occupancy rate of star-rated hotels dropped as low as 38 percent in March 2025 before gradually increasing in June, even though not yet reaching ideal levels.

"This is expected to bring positive impacts to the industry," he added.

He also hoped this would encourage increased employment absorption.

In addition, he emphasized the importance of business actors adjusting service prices to be more affordable for the community.

"Hopefully, prices in the hotel and restaurant sector can become more affordable for the residents," he hoped.
