The construction of water channel on Jalan Asem Baris Raya, Kebon Baru Urban Village, Tebet District, South Jakarta has reached 90 percent. The project was stated in April 2025.

South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency Head, Santo said the water channel on Jalan Asem Baris Raya is constructed along 1,200 meters.

"The project has been running since April 2025 and is targeted to complete in September," he said, Friday (8/22).

Santo explained that a review and socialization was carried out today regarding plans to tidy up the area around the location by re-concreting and paving the road.

"Residents' requests were delivered to the environmental caretaker. Then, we concrete and asphalt it again to make it more sturdy and neat," he added.

Moreover,  the drinking water piping project by PAM Jaya was also socialized, which also uses part of the road at several points.

Kebon Baru Urban Village Head, Mariana, appreciate the water channel construction as part of effort in preventing inundation.

"Thankfully the residents support this project fully," she stated.
