East Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin led the trees planting on Jalan Inspeksi Kali Pulo Nangka, RW 16, Kayu Putih Urban Village, Pulo Gadung District.

Munjirin said the planting is routinely held every Friday. The location on the riverbank was chosen because tree roots can prevent landslides by binding soil particles and absorbing excess water, thereby increasing the stability of the embankment area.

"Planting trees has many benefits, including improving air quality," he said, Friday (8/22).

Munjirin added there were 20 trees planted today namely 10 tabebuia and 10 mahogany.

"I hope that residents can contribute by planting trees so that East Jakarta will be more beautiful and comfortable," he invited.
