The rain pounding the Jakarta area has flooded Jalan Raya Kelapa Hybrida, RW 23, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading Sub-district, North Jakarta.

Kelapa Gading Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Jhoni Sariyanto Situmorang said, the flood spanning 30 meters with of five meters high began at 7:30 AM due to heavy rainfall and the lack of storm drains connected to the connecting channel.

"We keep moving quickly in handling the flood with one portable pump unit, and it is now beginning to recede," he expressed, Tuesday (8/19).

He explained that three personnel were deployed to handle the flooding at the location, including activating the Pump House in Kelapa Gading area.

"Since morning, all personnel have been deployed for flood monitoring. There is one point, and we are able to handle it to prevent long traffic jams," he explained.

The quick action above received appreciation from one of the motorists, Ardan Hermansyah (36).

"Every day, I cross this road to go to work. There were personnel on site earlier and the floodwaters have started to recede. I really appreciate it," he admitted.
