The Seribu Islands Regency administration is intensifying the distribution of free red and white flags ahead of Indonesia's 80th Independence Day.
We also distributed hundreds of free red and white flags to residents
Seribu Islands Deputy Regent, Aceng Zaini said, this free flag distribution is aimed to motivate residents in celebrating Indonesia's Independence Day by igniting the spirit of nationalism and love for the homeland.
"Yesterday, we also distributed hundreds of free red and white flags to residents passing through the Seribu Seribu Regency Plaza area," he expressed, Friday (8/15).
He assessed, this momentum serves as a reminder to all elements of society of the importance of continuing the heroes' struggle. No longer with weapons, but through works, dedication, and tangible contributions to development.
"Let's continue the heroes' struggle by developing the Seribu Islands towards a Jakarta Global," he expressed.
To celebrate Indonesia's Independence Day, the government organized the Regent Cup, which has been ongoing since August 11, with the final to be held on August 17 on Pramuka Island.
He also urged his residents to celebrate the 17th with various competitions as a means to strengthen brotherhood, unity, and community entertainment.
"This festive independence celebration must also be present and seen in the community environment. Like a village decoration contest to make it look clean and lively with independence ornaments. I believe, the atmosphere will definitely be different from an ordinary day," he asserted.
Meanwhile, one of the small and medium enterprise (MSME) actors on Pramuka Island, Neni (56), appreciated the free red and white flags and the invitation to display them.
"I have already put up the red and white flag, and I have also decorated the stall. Hopefully, Indonesia, especially Jakarta, can become better in the future," he stated.
