Dishub Prepares Traffic Diversion for 80th Independence Celebration Night

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) plans to divert traffic flow during the 80th Independence Day celebration event on Sunday (8/17).

Traffic diversion will be applied at 31 road segments from 6 PM to 11 PM

The event will start at 7:30 AM and end at 11 PM, featuring a Decorative Vehicle Parade along the east side of Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, the east side of Jalan MH Thamrin, the east side of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, and the junction of Semanggi Interchange.

Jakarta Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo said, five entertainment stage points have been prepared along the carnival route, namely Taman Pandang Istana (Monas), Sarinah, Bundaran HI, Dukuh Atas, and Sampoerna Strategic.

"Traffic diversion will be applied at 31 road segments from 6 PM to 11 PM to ensure the safety and smooth running of the event," he expressed, Friday (8/15).

Traffic diversion is situational on the road segments and access to the road segments as follows:

1. Jalan Jenderal Sudirman (from Senayan Roundabout to HI Roundabout)

2. Jalan MH Thamrin (from Bundaran HI to Bundaran Patung Kuda or Horse Statue)

3. Jalan Pintu 1 Senayan

4. Slow Lane of Semanggi Interchange (Gatot Subroto) West Side

5. Jalan Bendungan Hilir

6. Jalan KH. Mas Mansyur

7. Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur 5

8. Jalan Kupingan BNI 46

9. Jalan Kota Bumi and Jalan Baturaja

10. Jalan Teluk Betung

11. Jalan Kebon Kacang

12. Jalan Sunda

Here is the alternative route for traffic diversion:

A. Traffic from South to North is diverted through Jalan Hang Lekir I – Jalan Hang Tuah – Jalan Hang Lekir IV – Jalan Hang Lekir II – Jalan Hang Lekir – Jalan Asia Africa – Jalan Gerbang Pemuda – Jalan Gatot Subroto – Jalan KS Tubun – Jalan KH Mas Mansyur – Jalan Cideng — etc. Alternatively, it can pass through Jalan HR Rasuna Said – Jalan Prof Dr Satrio – Jalan KH Mas Mansyur – etc. (in the opposite direction from North to South)

B. Traffic from North to South is diverted through Jalan Ir H Juanda – Jalan Pos – Jalan Gedung Kesenian – Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara – Jalan Lapangan Banteng Barat–Jalan Pejambon – Jalan MI Ridwan Rais towards Rasuna Said – etc. Or it can pass through Jalan Gunung Sahari – Jalan Kramat Raya – Jalan Salemba – Jalan Proklamasi – Jalan Tambak – Jalan Prof Dr Sahardjo – etc.

C. Traffic from East (Jalan Batu) to West (Tanah Abang) can pass through Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur – Jalan M.I Ridwan Rais – turn at Tugu Tani – Jalan MI Ridwan Rais – Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur – Jalan Perwira – Jalan Veteran – Jalan Suryopranoto – Jalan Balikpapan – Jalan Cideng Timur – Jalan Fachrudin – and etc

D. Traffic from East (Pasar Senen) to West (Tomang Raya) can pass through Jalan Kramat Kwitang – U-turn in the west– Jalan Kramat Raya – Jalan Kramat Kwitang – Jalan Tani Monument – Jalan MI Ridwan Rais – Jalan Merdeka Timur – Jalan Perwira – Jalan Katedral – Jalan Veteran –Jalan Suryopranoto – Jalan Balikpapan – Jalan Kyai Caringin – etc

He explained, the operations of Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT on the night of the 80th Independence Day celebration are also adjusted, with MRT service hours starting from 5 AM to 12 AM and LRT from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM.

"The special fare of Rp 80 will apply to the public transportation service from August 17 at 12 AM until August 18 at 11:59 PM," he expressed.

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) urges the public attending Independence Day celebration events to use public transportation modes (Transjakarta Bus, LRT, MRT, and Commuter Line) to minimize congestion around the event area.

They are also urged to avoid that road segment and to adjust to the traffic regulations, obey traffic signs, follow instructions from field officers, and prioritize safety on the road.

"To long-distance train passengers heading to Gambir Station, please adjust your travel time accordingly," he stated
