About 10 kilograms of vegetables harvested at urban farming area at Kuda Laut Park RT 01/18 Cipinang Urban Village, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, Thursday (8/14).

Cipinang Urban Village Head, Watini explained caretakers of RT, RW, LMK, urban village TP PKK cadre, and PPSU harvested Pakcoy, Water Spinach, Mustard Greens and Eggplant.

"Some are sold to cadres and some are distributed to the farming groups that manage them. The sales money are used to operate the urban farm," she explained.

Cipinang Urban Village's Section of Economic and Development Head, Hendrayanto admitted urban farming activities at the area are very active. The park also won the city-level Timur Tanam Labu Madu competition in 2023.

"Kuda Laut Park's urban farming program is under the management of the East Jakarta Food Security, Marine and Agriculture Sub-agency. Its cadres and farmer groups are very active, resulting in excellent vegetable yields," he said.

He expressed his deep appreciation for residents who continue to develop urban farming activities. This is certainly part of the community's efforts to support greening, urban farming, and food security, which are being promoted by the city government.

"The park is home of many vegetables and a nutrient pool. There is also a waste bank," he explained.
