Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin, delivered a special message to residents ahead of the 80th Independence Day celebration of Indonesia on August 17, 2025.

"Insya Allah (God willing), next week, we will celebrate Indonesia's 80th Independence Day. May the values of struggle demonstrated by the heroes continue to flow within all of us," he expressed, Thursday (8/14).

He invites residents to protect Indonesia, especially Jakarta, as a form of honoring the heroes.

"The successors of the nation must be able to preserve independence and fill it with development. The value of the struggle must remain in our hearts," he added.

He conveyed Indonesia's traditional way of celebrating Independence Day, which includes public festivities and various competitions. The main meaning of the competitions is not the prizes, but togetherness, unity, and family spirit.

"This momentum unites all layers of society, from the lowest to the highest. Usually, we rarely meet due to everyone's busyness, but August 17 makes the streets quiet because residents gather and socialize," he stated.
