Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency rank normalize water channel along 150 meters at residential on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat 2, RT 07 and 08/RW 06 Karet Urban Village, Tanah Abang.

Tanah Abang District's Water Resources Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari, said the normalization involved nine personnel has been running since June 29 and is targeted to complete next September.

"The progress has reached 48 percent. It is targeted to complete in September," she said, Wednesday (8/13).

Eli explained this normalization follows up on residents' requests in the Musrenbang because the condition of the channel is shallow and narrow so it is unable to accommodate the maximum water.

"We installed a new 60 x 60 centimeter concrete U-ditch. The new water channel will connect to the PHB channel on Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Barat," she explained.

Meanwhile, one of local residents, Herman, thanked and appreciated the rank for normalizing the channel.

"Hopefully it will be able to prevent inundation during heavy rain," he hoped.
