Jakarta City Council's Commission submitted several recommendations during the Budgeting Agency (Banggar) meeting with the executive, Monday (8/11) night.
The program is requested to focus on public services
The meeting discussed input for the preparation of the Draft General Policy of the Regional Budget and the Draft Priorities and Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) of the Jakarta Regional Budget for the 2026 Fiscal Year.
Commission A Chairman, Inggard Joshua, said every program and budget proposal from regional apparatus must be in accordance with the main tasks and functions, based on performance data, and answer the priority needs of citizens.
"The program is requested to focus on public services in the areas of government administration, security and public order," he said, Tuesday (8/12).
Commission A also requested that the Jakarta Provincial Government combine social assistance programs such as the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP), the Jakarta Healthy Card (KJS), and affordable basic food packages with productive economic empowerment programs, including Jakpreneur, access to capital for MSMEs, and job training.
Furthermore, Jakarta's orientation toward becoming a global city is requested to be accompanied by measurable indicators and structured budget planning. The provincial government was also reminded to complete pending work in the 2025 fiscal year with adequate allocations in 2026.
"The provincial government needs to stop the practice of burning waste through law enforcement, the provision of 3R TPS at the urban village level, and education to the public to encourage recycling," he stated.
