The rapid development of digital payment systems is driving the increasingly significant economic growth of Jakarta.

This correlates with household consumption performance

Jakarta Branch Bank Indonesia Representative Deputy Head, Yosamartha said, the non-cash payment velocity in Jakarta has reached 1.25, indicating the increasing widespread use of digital channels such as QRIS, e-money, and mobile banking by the public.

"This correlates with household consumption performance which grew by 5.17 percent, with most of the payments made digitally," he expressed, Tuesday (8/12).

According to him, E-commerce transactions also show positive growth in 2025, driven by strong household consumption. Besides the private sector, digitalization is also optimally utilized by the Jakarta Government.

Based on data from the first semester of 2025, the Local Government Electronic Transaction Index (ETPD) in Jakarta reached 99.8 percent, the highest in the Java region.

"QRIS contribution to Local Original Revenue (PAD) even reaches 3.41 percent. In terms of payment methods, 51 percent of Jakarta Government transactions are already digital, 12 percent semi-digital, and 34 percent cashless," he explained.

He added, Jakarta's role on a national scale is also significant. As of June 2025, the volume of digital transactions in Jakarta reached Rp 2.3 billion or 43 percent of the national total, even though users account for only 11 percent of the national total and merchants 16.5 percent.

Then various initiatives have become the driving force behind digitalization, including innovation trials in Jakarta such as Inter-National QRIS and Tap QRIS for transportation, healthcare, retail, and parking. One of the pilot projects, Tap QRIS, has been tested for parking payments at Lippo Mall Nusantara (formerly Plaza Semanggi).

He added that collaboration with the Jakarta Government continues to expand, including a digital market competition initiated by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.

This program is expected to encourage traditional market players to utilize digital payment channels, in line with the vision of making Jakarta a barometer of digitalization implementation in Indonesia.

"Many initiatives start from Jakarta and become examples for other regions. We want to ensure digitalization is optimal, both in the government and private sectors, together with stakeholders," he closed.
