The water channel normalization along 80 meters on Jalan Bengawan RT 07/01 Cideng Urban Village, Gambir, Central Jakarta, is targeted to complete next week.

Gambir District's Water Resources Unit Head, M Imawan said the normalization involves 18 personnel since July 21 ago. The work starts from Gang Hijau up to Jalan Bengawan.

"We construct a new channel measuring about 80 centimeters wide and high, because the old channel had narrowed," he said, Monday (8/11).

The water channel normalization, he added, is responding resident's request via Musrenbang 2026, as well as quick response from local RT caretaker.

"It is targeted to complete next week," he added.

Meanwhile, Yuli (35), one of local residents, appreciated the quick response of the Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency in normalizing the water channel.

"Now the channel is wider. Hopefully it will eliminate the inundation during rainy season," he hoped.
