The number of vaccinated animals increased significantly
West Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency (KPKP) Head, Novy C Palit said, the thousands of animals vaccinated were from seven urban villages located in West Jakarta.
"For one month, we targeted pets such as cats, dogs, monkeys, and civets to receive free rabies vaccinations," she expressed, Tuesday (8/5).
She detailed, vaccinations conducted in Palmerah, Sukabumi Selatan, Tegal Alur, Duri Selatan, Duri Kosambi, Tomang, and Jelambar urban villages reached 300 dogs, 864 cats, and two monkeys.
"The number of vaccinated animals increased significantly. In June, only 768 were vaccinated," she explained.
She added, the rabies vaccination period for August 2025 begins today in Tamansari, Bambu Utara, Kalideres, Grogol, and Sukabumi Utara urban villages.
"On August 12, vaccination will be held in Tambora Urban Village," she added.
She invites pet owners to join this free rabies vaccination outreach program to provide health for their pets.
"Hopefully, this will improve the health of the animals and their owners and help maintain Jakarta as a rabies-free city," he stated.
