Jakarta City Council's Commission D Chairman, Yuke Yurike confirmed that the relocation process for traders in the Barito area, especially bird traders, has led to a number of concrete solutions.
Jakarta Provincial Government will find best solution
"We believe that the Jakarta Provincial Government will find best solution for the traders," she said, Friday (8/1).
Yuke explained that the traders to be relocated consist of several groups, including fruit, culinary, and bird and animal feed traders. The Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared several alternative locations, both for temporary and permanent relocation, to avoid disrupting the trading activities of those affected by the relocation.
"Bird and animal feed traders will be temporarily relocated to the Lenteng Agung area. The permanent location is still in the planning stages and will be built in the future," she added.
Meanwhile, fruit and culinary traders will be directed to locations deemed more suitable and possible to become permanent business premises.
Yuke continued that socialization regarding the relocation had actually been run. However, this process still required more intensive communication to ensure the traders received a comprehensive explanation and were confident in the relocation plan.
"Coordination continues between the Provincial Government, the City Council, and the traders, so that all parties know when to move, when construction will begin, and when it will be completed," she continued.
Previously, South Jakarta City Administration ensured the traders on Jalan Barito, Kramat Pela Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru District will be relocated to temporary location owned by Perumda Pasar Jaya.
South Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar said the relocation will be run on August 3, 2025.
His ranks will assist everything including vehicles for transportation.
