Jakarta City Council's Commission E Chairman, Muhammad Thamrin emphasized the importance of improving the quality of public services, particularly in improving grant management to ensure more targeted distribution. He made this statement at a meeting of the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council's (DPRD) Budget Committee (Banggar) held at the Jakarta DPRD Building, Tuesday (7/29).
should not be a mere formality
Commission E also encouraged all Jakarta Regional Work Units (SKPD) to improve budget absorption performance, improve planning accuracy, and accelerate the implementation of strategic regional programs.
"Budget changes should not be a mere formality. They must be based on a comprehensive evaluation of the performance of regional government agencies," he said.
He also emphasized the importance of cross-regional government agencies coordination so that programs do not overlap and can run in a more integrated manner.
Efficient budget use is also a concern, with an emphasis on ensuring that government spending is not wasteful, but rather focused on programs that have a direct impact on the community.
"We want to ensure that funds from the regional budget truly provides tangible benefits, especially for vulnerable and underprivileged Jakarta residents. Program development must also be based on real needs," he stated.
