Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung encourages all government ranks to adopt and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in realizing Jakarta as a modern and efficient global city.
"...to adopt and use the advantages offered by artificial intelligence,"
He conveyed this statement during the workshop titled "AI Implementation Roadmap in Jakarta with BCG-AI3" at Jakarta City Hall, on Thursday (7/23).
"I'm one of those urging the bureaucracy at Jakarta City Hall and within Jakarta Government
to adopt and use the advantages offered by artificial intelligence," said Pramono. He highlighted AI potentials in addressing city issues, such as traffic management, management of social aid programs such as KJP and KJMU, population administration such as KTP, Jakarta Satu, and JAKI application and mapping.
According to him, adopting AI will make Jakarta more modern and competitive as a global city. He noted that AI already plays a role in alleviating traffic congestion in the city.
With Intelligence Traffic Control System (ITCS) installed at 65 locations, Jakarta has managed to drop out of the list of the world's 20 most congested cities. Jakarta now ranks fifth in Indonesia for traffic congestion.
Pramono stressed that the Jakarta's bureaucracy must keep pace with technological advancements, including AI.
"I hope this workshop and FGD will lead to actual implementation in jakarta, including improvements to JAKI," he expressed.
Head of Jakarta Regional Development Planning and Development Agency (Bappeda), Atika Rahmania, explained that the workshop is part of Jakarta's strategic efforts to achieve full digital transformation in line with Governor's visions of placing Jakarta among the world's top 50 global cities in 2030.
This event, she added, aims to not only introduce technology, but also to shape perspective and frameworks for addressing city challenges, such as traffic congestion, flooding, and public service efficiency.
"Through this workshop, we aim to go beyond planning and start discussing concrete steps for implementation, strengthen our collective commitment to realize Jakarta as a smart, inclusive, responsive global city," she asserted.
