The construction of water channel on Jalan Kerinci VIII, RT 08/02, Gunung Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta is about to complete soon.

Kebayoran Baru District's Water Resource Unit Head, Sutopo said water channel construction aims to anticipate inundation during rainy season in the area.

"We also aim preventing inundation in other areas. The work is targeted to complete this week," he said, Tuesday (7/22).

Sutopo explained the channel is constructed along 50 meters by using u-ditch. The work has been running since early July 2025 by involving one excavator with six personnel.

"Hopefully this channel will be able to flow the water smoothly," he added.

Meanwhile, one of the residents, Leo (53) appreciated the project. Le stated that the local residents will be safer since the channel is completed with cover.

"It's the right way to anticipate inundation," he admitted.
