We certainly support this cooperation
The probing was done when Pramono was speaking at the high-level forum, the High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), at the United Nations Headquarters.
Jakarta City Council Commission A Member, Kevin Wu assessed, this initiative is a positive step in line with Jakarta's vision to rank among the top 50 global cities in the world.
"We certainly support this cooperation because there are many lessons we can learn from it," he expressed, Thursday (7/17).
He asserted many strategic partners were needed to share experiences and adopt best practices in city development.
"Including many good benchmarks that we can learn from is necessary. This is important to smoothen Jakarta's transformation faster and more accurately," he explained.
According to him, this kind of sister city cooperation could help Jakarta overcome various challenges in the process of becoming a global city.
"Despite many developments have been realized, we have still shortcomings and obstacles. Learning from the big city of New York can be an important lesson for building Jakarta in the future," he added.
As information, the HLPF is a strategic forum for world leaders, diplomats, and regional heads to evaluate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and discuss various global challenges.
Jakarta's presence in this forum reflects international recognition of the transformation of the capital into an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable global city.
