Jakarta City Council Commission E Chairman, KH Muhammad Thamrin reviewed the school introduction period (MPLS) at SDN Cipayung 04 and SMA Islam PB Soedirman, Cijantung, Monday (7/14).

Thamrin assessed the first day of school is a crucial moment that will be deeply ingrained in every child's memory. Therefore, Commission E wants to ensure that the welcoming atmosphere for students is positive and memorable.

"We encourage all educational institutions to create a clean, orderly, and child-friendly school environment . Teachers and other educational staff are expected to welcome students with smiles and enthusiasm, so that every child feels accepted, valued, and loved," he said.

As a partner of the Jakarta Education Agency, Commission E also urges schools to actively anticipate and prevent bullying practices in any form, whether physical, verbal, or online, from day one.

"The school environment should be a safe and comfortable space for children to grow and develop, not the other way around," he added.

He also emphasized the importance of addressing students facing economic constraints or lacking learning resources, such as uniforms and stationery. Schools are urged to actively identify and report these needs to the Education Agency so that assistance could be provided promptly.

Thamrin stated that his party will continue to support efforts to improve school facilities, cleanliness, and security.
