A total of 288 new students at SMPN 129 on Jalan Warakas VI, Papanggo Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-district, North Jakarta, are participating in the School Orientation Program (MPLS).

Head of Jakarta Education Sub-agency Region I, Rona Eveliner Sianipar, said MPLS is a crucial moment in helping new students adapt to their new learning environment.
According to her, MPLS is a period for students to get to know the school culture, core values, and rules, as well as to build motivation and a spirit of collaboration.
"This activity is not just ceremonial, but
it's a starting point for shaping students with character, competitiveness, and integrity," she conveyed on Monday (7/14).Rona affirmed that there is no hazing, violence, or any form of physical, verbal, or psychological intimidation during MPLS.
"Let MPLS be a fun, joyful, educational activity that builds students enthusiasm for learning," she added.
Principal of SMPN 129 Jakarta, Sepu Latif Ibrahim, explained that Friendly MPLS program at SMPN 129 takes place for five days, from July 14 to 18, 2025, and involves all 288 sevent-grade students.
He added that the activity is not only involve teachers but also feature sessions led by representatives from the health center, military command (Kodim), and Tanjung Priok Sub-district officials.
"In addition to school orientation, we're also providing materials on character building, healthy lifestyles, and more," he mentioned.
Meanwhile, one of the students, Nadya Lestari (12) expressed her excitement to return to school and meet new friends.
"I'm really happy. I've already made some new friends. I'm feeling even more motivated to study," she said.
