Jakarta Provincial Government prepares Rp 4 Trillion for flood handling in the city. Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung explained the budget will be used as medium and long-term flood handling.

It includes the normalization of Ciliwung River, land procurement, pump procurement, and so on.

"We have decided that flood handling in Jakarta can not be done in short-term system. We have allocated Rp 4 trillion for it ," Pramono said, Friday (7/11).

The budget will be used for flood handling up to 2026. Jakarta Provincial Government will also relocate riverbank residents.

"Like it or not, we will relocate them as riverbank is not place for live," he added.

Pramono emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government is working to solve the frequent flooding problem. These flood management efforts will continue in the long term.

"We want to solve flood in medium and long-term system. It will start soon," he admitted.
